Melbourne upgrades for McLaren
[SinglePic not found]McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh is bullish about his team’s chances ahead of the Australian Grand Prix and revealed the MP4-25 would run a number of minor upgrades at the race.
McLaren finished on the podium in Bahrain after Lewis Hamilton took advantage of Sebastian Vettel’s engine problem to finish third. The car was off the pace of Ferrari and Red Bull in qualifying and was giving away time in the lengthily middle sector of the lap. Read the rest of this entry »
FIA shuts diffuser loophole
Discussions between the FIA and four teams – understood to be Force India, McLaren, Mercedes and Renault – took place in Bahrain about the size of starter motor holes in their diffusers which were believed to be too wide. FIA set to chase diffuser amendments

Schumacher hoping to draw on past success in Australia

He has won four times on the parkland circuit and is aiming to draw on his past success and knowledge of the track to give him an advantage.

Webber hopes for Melbourne rain

Despite not appearing on the modern day F1 calendar until 1985, the Australian Grand Prix has been a feature in Australian motorsport since 1928. The first race, held at the Phillip Island circuit, was won by Arthur Waite driving a modified Austin 7. The event was the centrepiece of the Tasman Series from 1964 to 1969 and was a round of the Australian drivers’ championship for numerous years between 1957 and 1983. Since its introduction to the F1 calendar in 1985, the Australian Grand Prix has only had two venues; a road circuit in Adelaide and the Albert Park venue in Melbourne. Read the rest of this entry »
